Industry Experts To Convene at the Inaugural Virtual Green Build Event:
Event Features Keynote Presentations, Five Educational Tracks, Virtual Exhibit Hall
Hamilton, NJ – The New Jersey Builders Association (NJBA) is leading the way in virtual conferencing and green building by hosting the inaugural Virtual Green Build Event – an online green building expo – January 12-14, 2010. It is the first show of its kind for the homebuilding industry. The event is open to everyone affiliated with green building and homebuilding, and registration for the three-day event is $150.
Participation is done entirely through the convenience of a computer, making “attendance” both cost-effective and user-friendly, but what makes this event different from traditional webinars or online meetings is the use of avatars within a cutting-edge, interactive web platform.
Leading experts in residential construction, commercial and industrial development, remodeling and redevelopment, governmental policy, and marketing will present informative seminars and deliver keynote addresses throughout the three-day conference. Those confirmed to participate include: Lisa Randall, Commissioner of the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities; Michelle Desiderio, Director of the NAHB Research Center's green building programs; and Al Matos, Vice President of Renewables & Energy Solutions at PSE&G.
According to NJBA President Michael Karmatz, “The NJBA is proud to be hosting the Virtual Green Build Event – the first of its kind in our industry. The homebuilding industry and our Association continue to embrace and make use of emerging trends and technologies, and we welcome the opportunity to champion such efforts – including virtual conferencing – for the purpose of education, networking, conservation and commerce.”
The five educational tracks include new construction, remodeling/redevelopment, government policy, commercial & industrial construction, and marketing. The program schedule can be found online at: http://www.virtualgreenbuildevent.com/show.php, and will be finalized in the coming days.
A virtual exhibit hall will feature the latest products and services pertaining to green building, so that all participants can maximize their investment of time and resources. Exhibitors will staff virtual booths for the event, including representatives of NAHBGreen. Exhibit space is available for $650; however, 2010 Atlantic Builders Convention exhibitors are eligible to receive a 50% discount, and may reserve exhibit space at the Virtual Green Guild Event for $325.
George Vallone of the Hoboken Brownstone Company shared, “As a ‘green’ builder, I value the opportunity to participate and contribute to this event, and I plan to take advantage of all that is available through this innovative platform.”
Vallone continued, “There is so much to learn in terms of emerging products, best practices, available services, accreditation standards, governmental policy, regulations and financial incentives – like grants and tax credits, to name a few. This expo will afford me the opportunity to meet and network with other professionals from throughout the country – all from the convenience of my office.”
Additional information – including registration forms, advertising and marketing opportunities, and exhibit space agreements – is available online at www.virtualgreenbuildevent.com, and updates to the site are made regularly.
