Site Remediation Program Rule Proposal Issued

This week the NJDEP issued the long-anticipated rule proposal to fully implement the new site remediation paradigm that was established by the 2009 Site Remediation Reform Act.  This proposal amends site remediation related rules, primarily the Administrative Requirements for the Remediation of Contaminated Sites, and also replaces the existing Technical Requirements for Site Remediation with rules that “contain performance based remediation goals”. Comments are due by October 14, 2011.  A public hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, September 13 at 9a.m. at the NJDEP.
