April 22, 2011  - New Jersey's legislative redistricting process came to a close when tiebreaking member Rutgers Professor Alan Rosenthal Rosenthal cast the decisive vote to approve the election map proposed by the Democrats.  He said the map "gives the minority party a chance at winning control of the Legislature, even in what is essentially a Democratic state."  However many experts have said that the map protects incumbents and likely preserves a Democratic majority for the next decade.
